Hanoi government's grim determination to organize the ceremonies at all costs has inflicted untold sufferings to the citizens and caused enormous problems, tragic consequences to the population at large.

Those tragedies covered all aspects : history, culture, economy, social fabric, education, environment, and public health. The festivities will open on October 1, 2010, strangely coinciding with the National Day of the People's Republic of China.

To sum up in a nutshell, the spectacular celebration has encountered monumental failures prior to the opening date. Many activities have been cancelled at last minute and many projects have not been completed on schedule.

However, Hanoi leadership, senior cadres and their henchmen as designated contractors have benefited handsomely from huge allocations of national budget which had been earmarked for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long.

Through the development of events, Hanoi leadership has evolved to become worse than French colonialists in the exploitation of Vietnam resources and more dictatorial than Vietnamese feudal regimes in the past.

Nowadays, the two elements of Vietnamese society, farmers and workers are victims of exploitation, deprived of land ownership and abused in shemes of labor export.

This is a wonderful work from Dr. Mai that I have admired. Dr. Mai has spent, without compensation, valuable time to make people aware of the truth and reality underneath the so-called event “One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long.”

It is interesting to see, read and listen to the Youtube “One thousand Year Anniversary under Dirty Drinking Water” he has created in response to the Communist party’s above-mentioned event. The funny thing is that the Communist government always shows its effort to build a beautiful image of Vietnam under communist regime. They have tried in different ways to make known to the world. This process of showing off has been applied everywhere to make "innocent people" believe that in Vietnam, everything is peaceful, beautiful, special and clean.

This kind of shallow behaviour has been uncovered by Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet, a well known political activist in the Vietnamese community in California, Giving evidence to the statements made, Dr. Mai has condemned the Vietnamese Communist Party for their ridiculous title indicating a shallow attitude and action when trying to organize this upcoming event in October 2010.

Its purpose is just to show the world that “Vietnam today” is a country with a “wonderful land and culture consisting of many positive aspects socially, culturally, historically and even economically. They have tried to impress people and "seduce" them to visit Vietnam.

Ironically, the truth is that human rights have been abused, freedom of speech has been prevented, and citizens have no choice for a healthy life.

Unfortunately, these things are unreal and Dr. Mai feels the need to clarify the truth underneath that useless- but -expensively cost- event that the Vietnamese communist party has promoted.

This ridiculous behaviour can only happen in Vietnam today, under the communist regime.

The US government pledges to provide an additional 15 million financial assistance in 2010 to four countries consisting of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The grant will be for the purpose of improving food safety in the region.

Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet disclosed that US interests in Southeast Asia based on this legislation are regarded by observers as of paramount importance in the foreseeable future. US policy remains close cooperation with ASEAN countries.

This cooperation, based on US pragmatic interests will undoubtedly adversely impact China's expansionist designs in this area, regardless of international laws.

On the other hand, the actions undertaken by the Lower Mekong Initiative will herald positive developments in ASEAN countries.

The US government pledges to provide an additional 15 million financial assistance in 2010 to four countries consisting of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. The grant will be for the purpose of improving food safety in the region.

Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet disclosed that US interests in Southeast Asia based on this legislation are regarded by observers as of paramount importance in the foreseeable future. US policy remains close cooperation with ASEAN countries.

This cooperation, based on US pragmatic interests will undoubtedly adversely impact China's expansionist designs in this area, regardless of international laws.

On the other hand, the actions undertaken by the Lower Mekong Initiative will herald positive developments in ASEAN countries.

Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet - One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long under Sources for all kinds of diseases.

The interview of Dr. Mai Thanh Truyet, President of the Vietnamese American Science and Technology Society (VAST) was conducted on August 12, 2010 at Westminster city in Southern California. The subject matter focused on the One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long and Hanoi's current problems of environmental pollution.

Communist Vietnam government has spent an approximate amount of 4.5 billion US dollars for the celebration of One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long while the country's economy is experiencing a down turn, Vietnamese people are reeling under extreme hardship and the state coffers burdened with 28 billion US dollars of international debt. Under these conditions, Vietnam will be obligated to pay an average of two billion US dollars of interest Payments as of 2006.

The anniversary celebration is being touted by the Viet Cong media as the Pride of the Vietnamese People.

The opening ceremony will be scheduled on October 1, 2010 coinciding with the National Day of the People's Republic of China.

A huge meeting expected to gather 10,000 participants will perform all kinds of ceremonies under a statue of a mandarin dressed in Chinese costume and proclaimed by the VC as King Ly Thai To.

However, spectacular celebration will not hide the obvious fact that Hanoi is covered by disastrous pollution.

The One Thousand Year Anniversary of Thang Long will certainly increase the amount of polluted air, unsafe drinking water, poisonous food products, garbage and all kinds of diseases.
